Seitokai no Ichizon - The Congregating Student Council [Part 4]

This is the chronologically last chapter in the Seitokai no Ichizon series, originally published in Seitokai no Shukujitsu in 2013. I'm giving you full closure here. This monster of a chapter spans 100 pages, a full 2/5 of the entire volume, so I've split it up into several parts, with the next ones to come in the coming weeks as I finish them. Enjoy.

"Then, once again, my name is Saionji Tsukushi. It's nice to meet you."

"Y-yeah, nice to meet ya."

"It's a pleasure."

Saionji, who had been freed from the ball, began introducing herself once again with her head bowed. The sisters responded in kind. After watching them for while, I waited until they were done with their conversation and started with a "Now then."

"The only one left is Kagami..."

Her movements were truly impossible to predict. Just as I was thinking that the only way to do this would be to conduct an all out search inside the school, I saw Saionji stare at me with a mysterious look in her eyes.

"Huh? Ken-san, are you perhaps looking for Hokuto-san?"

"Hm? What's up, Saionji? Do you know where Kagami is right now?"

"To say I know wouldn't exactly be wrong..."

Saionji's expression became increasingly strange as her eyes wandered all over the place. The sisters and I couldn't figure out what she meant, and we were feeling more and more confused. Saionji seemed to have figured something out and started talking to herself.

"Ah... I was bouncing around in that ball and could see thanks to some of those strange angles... hm, what was that? I shouldn't tell them? No, but, look, there's only one person left, isn't it about time to come out? We can't start the meeting otherwise..."

"S-Saionji? What's wrong? Who are you talking to?"

We were thoroughly confused now in the face of Saionji's strange actions. The sisters looked at me as if to say "Does this girl have some sort of weird power?" I quickly shook my head no, although I also wasn't sure what exactly Saionji was doing.

Sensing our apprehension, Saionji once again looked at the empty space as if to confirm something.

"I'm sorry. I'm going to tell them, ok?"

"Saionji? Who have you been talking to... it's not the god of comedy, is it?"

"Well, it is a kami, but not the god of comedy—"

(TL Note: A pun, kami = god, the same character in Kagami's name)

As she spoke, Saionji pointed at the ceiling behind our backs. We still didn't understand what she meant as we turned in the direction she was pointing. And then—

"—I was talking with Kagami Hokuto-san, who had only her face exposed while hiding in the ceiling."

—Just like she said, we locked gazes with the girl who had her head peeking out from the ceiling...Kagami Hokuto.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!"

Our screams were prompted by the all too horror movie-like scene in front of us.

With her face hanging out from the darkness, Kagami's mouth contorted into an unnerving smile as we made eye contact, and then—

"Whoa!?"

She climbed out of the ceiling boards with great dexterity, making a backflip in the air and finally landing squarely on the hallway. Looking at our stunned expressions as she stood in front of us, Kagami stuck out her tongue with a "Sorry!" and a coy smile. The sisters seemed relieved by her demeanor, their expressions seemingly saying "Ah, she might be surprisingly easy to get along with." In response, Kagami continued speaking while maintaining her smile.

"Kagami had originally planned to follow the former council members until they were alone so she could take them out, but it ended up like this instead!"

"What are you saying while smiling like that!?"

The sisters were in shock——Saionji and I both sighed as I placed my hand on Kagami's shoulder and glared at her intently.

"Hey, Kagami!"

"Umm... Senpai?"

Kagami looked at my uneasily, the sisters looked on with an air of "You tell her!". Just you watch me!

"Don't be late for the meeting next time, ok!?"

"That's the problem!?"

The sisters were astonished, Kagami hung her head with an "I'm sorry...", and I just sighed.

"Even though it fits your character... following me for 40 pages since the meeting began and not saying a word, there are some lines student council members shouldn't cross, Kagami!"

"More importantly, that's a line that human beings shouldn't cross!"

"Well... as for your stalking today, as well as eavesdropping, photographing in secret, failed assassination attempts, that's all expected so I won't scold you further."

"Why are you so lenient!? Are you Korosensei or something!?"

The sisters kept saying things like "When did Hekiyou turn into an assassination school?" with disbelief in their faces... I do understand where they're coming from, but nothing will change with Kagami if I get mad at her, so it's more productive to scold her about other things instead...

Actually, Kagami was dejectedly saying "I'm sorry about that..." and looked like she was reflecting on her actions.

Alright, that should be fine.

After settling that, I encouraged Kagami to introduce herself. Even though she usually had a malicious attitude towards "girls who try to seduce Senpai", today it seemed like she would introduce herself properly.

Kagami walked up to the sisters with an emotionless face. After glancing at each other, the sisters welcomed Kagami with a smile, seeing as how she had already approached them–

"Kagami Hokuto, treasurer. Kagami's goal is to exterminate all the worms who try to get close to Senpai, Kagami hopes we can all get along!"

"Who would want to get along with you!?"

"Senpai. The former student council members are kind of hostile."

"Who's the hostile one here!?"

The sisters shouted in disbelief.

Well, in any case.

With this, finally, all of the former and current student council members had gathered successfully.
